Youth Theatre

Did you know that the Maleny Players has a vibrant youth theatre that is about to enter its 8th year?

Held at The Playhouse every Tuesday, classes for young actors aged 6 -11 years begin at 3.30pm and from 4.30, a longer class for 12 to 16 years old.  Members perform in original, classic and published works, comedies and tragedies and have a fantastic time each week honing acting skills for entry into the annual Christmas production, alongside adult actors.  There are members of the youth theatre in ‘Jack and the Magic Beans’.

Youth Theatre is managed by Catherine Steer, teaching artist and Artistic Director of the Nambour based Queensland School of Performing Arts. ‘The Playhouse is perfect for young people to develop crucial skills in performance but also in communication, confidence building and playmaking'.

Working in a safe, creative environment, the members receive acting training, join in with drama activities, games and improvisation as well as rehearsals. If your child wishes to join the Junior Players, please contact Catherine at qsp.acting@gmail.com

Nine-week term fee $130 (To be paid in advance).
